Apartment Building On A Tight Urban Site
The brief was to refurbish and extend an existing early 1900’s end of terrace
community building on a restricted urban site beside the North Western
railway line to provide for six two bedroom apartments.
The refurbished existing house and the new brick volume located along the North facing boundary, each containing three two bedroom apartments, are connected through the main circulation space which is accessed directly from the existing entrance.
The new volume is positioned to maximise the open space, the South and the East orientation of the site and to protect the privacy of the adjoining properties.
